The 1st Bearsden Boys' Brigade was founded in 1898 and since that time has been offering a wide range of activities and opportunities to boys aged between 6 and 18. The Company is split into three sections: Anchors (P2-P3), Juniors (P4-P6) and Company Section (P7-S6). The Anchors, Juniors and Company Section meet on Thursdays and Fridays respectively at the BB Hall.
The Object of the BB is
"The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline and Self Respect and all that tends toward a true Christian manliness".
The 1st Bearsden is connected with Baljaffray Parish Church who, in connection with New Kilpatrick Church, Bearsden Cross Church, Bearsden Baptist Church, Castlehill Baptist Church and All Saints Episcopal Church, oversee the running of the Company.
All three Sections offer a diverse programme of fun activities in a friendly environment. Activities include, amongst other things, Bible classes, sports and games, music, drama and outdoor activities. Both the Juniors and the Company Section hold annual camps - some as far afield as Denmark and Wisconsin, USA.
