Baljaffray Parish Church is a Fair Trade Church.

We promote Fair Trade through events in the Church - like our Beverage-Tasting Evening -  and through notices about Fair Trade goods that are available locally.

The Fair Trade Group has taken up the challenge from Just trading Scotland, the wholesale side of Balmore Coach House, to sell 90Kg of rice by the end of Fair Trade Fortnight, which begins on Monday 22nd February. The proceeds will enable a farmer in Malawi to send one of their children to secondary school for a year.

The rice is good for risotto, paella , pilaf and other rice dishes, and is also great when just boiled.
