The Forum

Forum heading

Following a stewardship campaign at the old Bearsden North Church it was decided to form a Mens Association. This was to mirror for male members the role of the Guild for ladies. Over the years the programme became of interest to lady members and, because of this, a change of name was considered to be appropriate, hence “The Forum”.

The prime purpose of the group is fellowship for members. We currently have about thirty members, approximately two thirds men and one third ladies. We meet fortnightly in the Church on Monday evenings from mid October to mid March. We listen to speakers on subjects of general interest. The talks last about forty five minutes followed by questions and answers. We also arrange occasional visits to places of interest. The evenings end with informal chat over tea/coffee and biscuits.

The Forum starts its new session in October, meeting on every second Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the Church.

This year’s subscription is £15 and is due at the beginning of the session.  The purpose of this is to pay donations / expenses to speakers.
